SCANAMID 66 is Polykemi’s product family of plastic compounds based on Polyamide 66. Polykemi offers a complete product range of Scanamid 66 for injection molding. The materials are available with multiple reinforcments or as impact resistant. Polykemi offers materials with high color accuracy. Scanamid 66 is advantageously used for vehicle and household components that need to withstand higher temperatures. Scanamid 66 can withstand higher temperatures than Scanamid 6.

Raw material

SCANAMID 66 is based on Polyamide 66, a partially crystalline thermoplastic.. The material is suitable for injection molding of construction components. Polyamide 66 has an excellent combination of chemical and mechanical properties. The materials can withstand high temperatures and have high abrasion resistance. Polyamide 66 takes up moisture, thus it is important that the materials are dried thoroughly according to the instructions before processing. Polyamide 66 can be degraded by strong acids.
