SCANAMID 6 is Polykemi’s product family of plastic compounds based on Polyamide 6. Polykemi offers a complete product range of Scanamid 6 for injection molding. These materials are available with multiple reinforcments or impact resistance. Polykemi offers materials with high color accuracy. Scanamid 6 is advantageously used for vehicle and household components that need to withstand higher temperatures.

Raw material

SCANAMID 6 is based on Polyamide 6, a partially crystalline thermoplastic. This material is suitable for injection molding of construction parts. Polyamide 6 has an excellent combination of chemical and mechanical properties. The materials can withstand high temperatures and have high abrasion resistance. Polyamide 6 readily takes up moisture, thus it is important to dry the materials properly according to the instructions before processing. Polyamide 6 can be degraded by strong acids.
